Basic Skills Quality Mark

This award is actively promoted by the Improvement and Learning Service and we can assess schools for accreditation.

A high percentage of primary schools and a handful of secondary school have achieved the Quality Mark accreditation in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Significantly many schools have gone on to achieve renewals of the award for the fourth or fifth time.

This quality assurance programme gives nationally recognised accreditation against ten key elements of school improvement.

It is a highly effective way of ensuring effective self-evaluation and improvement planning processes are in place and having the required impact across your school.

The local authority team has a number of accredited assessors for primary, secondary and special schools.

We prepare for assessment using a range of evidence including your self-audit, undertake a half day assessment visit and produce a detailed report against the ten Quality Mark elements, which you can then use as an external verification of the school’s work.

If you would like to know more about Quality Mark please feel free to contact us at the address below or look on the QM website which can be found at:

Basic Skills Quality Mark

An impressive Quality Mark plaque is awarded to the school and the school has use of the 'Q' logo on its documentation and website during the three year period of its award.

The award is recognised and regarded nationally as a mark of good practice.
