Once downloaded, the placement of the files is important, with the HTML needing to be saved in the same folder as the image files.

You can move the images to another folder, but the 'path' to those images will need to be altered in the code.

Click the link below and then save the Zip file to your hard drive or network, then unzip the files to the correct location using a suitable program (WinZip or 7Zip).

Primary Phase Art & Design History

S2C1831 - KS2 Creativity in the Curriculum - 'Who’s Been Sitting In My Chair?'

Click to visit the 'Who’s Been Sitting In My Chair?' website

A cross-curricular day at Burton Agnes Hall combining and adapting Art & Design and History QCA Units of Work.

A new KS2 unit of work based on Burton Agnes Hall past and present is presented and explored.

This links the Art and Design QCA Unit 4b, "Take a Seat" and the History QCA Unit 18, "What was it like to live here in the past?" and focuses on putting planning into practice in both lower and upper KS2.

Creative 'Learning Pathways' are developed to allow children to to explore the past.

The training day at Burton Agnes Hall is practical, focusing on artistic responses to the people and places in Burton Agnes Hall. Speaking, listening, reading and writing in context are explored within the unit.

"Who's Been Sitting In My Chair?" utilises a real context for creatively exploring the lives of the people who lived there in the past and provides resources for planning future class visits to Burton Agnes Hall.

The website supports the combined unit, providing resources for use in schools as well as further information and weblinks for teachers.
