Information:
This development group will support schools in incorporating/enhancing
CAD/CAM in their schemes of work. For those schools who do not have
in-house 3D CAM or wish to extend their capability there is also the
opportunity to borrow a CAMM2 device for use in delegate's school.
This development group will explore the creation of KS3/4 projects
with a flat-pack theme to create 3D artefacts. We will be incorporating
CAD packages (primarily '2D Design' in order to design artefacts,
which will then be manufactured using CAM devices. The intention being
to give delegates the support, opportunity and resources to devise
and/or adapt a project that meets the particular needs of their school.
The initial meeting will be complemented with the opportunity for
in-school support on the project from the CPM for D&T.
No prior knowledge of CAD will be assumed, however, experienced delegates
will have the opportunity to develop their skills. |
Objectives:
- To develop curriculum materials that enhance the application
of CAD/CAM
- To develop delegates' confidence and competence in using CAD
software
- To facilitate CAM manufacture of outcomes
- To examine progression issues with regard to CAD/CAM
