Information:
This course is aimed at practitioners interested in optimising the conditions for learning in their schools and classrooms.
The course aims to improve participants' understanding of the components of emotional literacy and their impact on academic achievement. The course will describe whole-school, small group and individual interventions that may be employed to develop pupils' emotional literacy. The course will also provide participants with the opportunity to reflect on their own practice.

 

Objectives:
  • To explore the conditions for learning as outlined in the Primary National Strategy.
  • To look at the components of emotional literacy.
  • To consider the impact of emotional literacy on academic achievement.
  • To consider how philosophy for children, restorative conferencing and solution-focused thinking may be used to optimise the conditions for learning.
Please note that failure to attend a course to which you have applied will result in an administration charge of £10.00 unless a cancellation code is quoted.  A similar charge will be made if delegates attend without having made a formal application.
