The best schools are communities where learning is at the heart. This course is intended to support the lead CPD professional and member of the Senior Leadership team in promoting the learning of the school community. It is a two day programme with a three month break between the two days. This will allow time to focus on a key element of the role and enable the participants to evaluate how effective they have been in meeting the objectives they have identifield. This will not be an additional task but one that they have selected from the current School Improvement Plan.
The content of the programme will focus on how to effectively:

  • lead professional development
  • coach members of the staf team
  • motivate and enable staff to carry out their roles to the highest standards possible through the provision of high quality CPD
  • sustain their own motivation and that of other staff.
  • Day 1 - Taught unit - Leading by example and effective coaching.
Day 2 - Taught unit - Feedback and learning from the agreed inter-sessional task and how to develop an effective CPD programme.
    Objectives:
    • To assist the lead CPD professional in developing the skill, strategies and confidence necessary to provide high quality professional development throughout their school
