Information:
This training from the DfES is designed for recently appointed school support staff (anyone who works in a school who is not a teacher or TA). This may also be of benefit to staff who have worked in school for some time, but who have received no other training in these areas. It is seen as being complementary to 'school-based' and covers a limited, but important, range of knowledge and skills which will be helpful for newly appointed staff in general. Module 1: Introduction and ICT, Module 2: Behaviour Management, Module 3: Inclusion, SEN and Disabilities, Module 4: The Curriculum and EAL, Module 5: Risk and Reflection

Objectives: To equip support staff with important aspects of knowledge and skills that will enable them to:
  • Contribute to raising educational standards.
  • Uphold school policies.
  • Provide appropriate and reliable support for teachers so that they can better concentrate on teaching.
Please note that failure to attend a course to which you have applied will result in an administration charge of £10.00 unless a cancellation code is quoted.  A similar charge will be made if delegates attend without having made a formal application.
Please complete the section below and pass the form onto your Continuing Professional Development co-ordinator or Headteacher.
