This one day session is aimed at providing good practitioners with up to date information and continuing professional development in applications of computer control in design and technology. To enable the teacher to become familiar with as many alternative approaches as possible, there will be a range of control equipment and software available for use. A second training session will be available in the autumn term. Once the teachers have become fully confident and competent in their own practice, they will then be available to provide demonstration lessons and guidance to other interested teachers in the East riding via a CPD package planned for the autumn term. The cohort will comprise of both primary and secondary teachers from each of the county's eight cluster areas who will provide each other with joint support.

Objectives:

  • To evaluate alternative approaches and equipment for primary computer control through into secondary.
  • To become fully confident and competent in the appplication of computer control in pupils' learning.
