All providers delivering the diploma in the East Riding of Yorkshire have agreed to contribute £2000 each to pay the salary of a Lead Assessor for the East Riding Diploma Consortium.
They have committed to a two year post in the first instance.
Kate Mills has been appointed as the Lead Assessor, she started work at the end of October 2009 and she is based at East Riding College.
She will report to a small representative group set up by the 14-19 Strategy Group.
This group has not yet met, and will be convened by the Local Authority 14-19 Lead Officer early in 2010 on behalf of the Strategy Group.
Management of the Lead Assessor is devolved on an operational basis to the 14-19 Lead Officer.
The Lead Assessor will provide critical development and support for all the Domain Assessors and represent the East Riding in moderation meetings with Awarding Bodies and will also attend 14-19 Action Group meetings, and meetings of exams officers chaired by QCDA.
There has been a meeting of all Domain Assessors where the common tracking documents for Diplomas in the East Riding were shared.
