Diploma Groups and Roles

There is a range of groups and individuals associated with Diploma development and delivery in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

Many groups are made up of representatives of other partners, and this section will enable you to find your representative who can raise issues in group meetings on your behalf.

Knowing how the groups interact will enable you to ensure that your voice is heard and that you have an input into decisions made.

The Lead Assessor (Kate Mills) oversees the quality assurance of the Principal Learning and the Project delivered as part of the Diploma, at all levels and across all centres, within the East Riding of Yorkshire.

The Line Lead is the person who is responsible for the leadership and development of a Line of Learning across the East Riding of Yorkshire.

A specific role descriptor for the Line Lead can be found at the back of this staff handbook.

The Lead Delivery Partner is the person who takes responsibility for the delivery and management of a Diploma course within one Delivery Partnership.

Example 1
Susan Smith is the Lead Delivery Partner for the IT Diploma in her delivery partnership. She is the main IT teacher at St Paul's school and teaches units 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The remainder of the units are delivered by a colleague at the local college.

Example 2
Initially Queen Margaret's School and Moorside School were going to offer the CAM Diploma together with a combined class however they both managed to recruit large numbers and which made two teaching groups viable, one at each centre.

The member of staff delivering the Diploma at Queen Margaret's and Moorside will both be named as Lead Delivery Partners as they will manage their courses separately.

The Domain Assessor is the person responsible for the quality assurance of the Principal Learning for one Line of Learning, at all levels, across all delivery partnerships within the East Riding of Yorkshire. This person is usually from the Lead Centre.

Where there are two delivery partnerships, delivering the same Line however using different Awarding Bodies there will be one Domain Assessor for each Awarding Body.
