Diplomas form an important new route in a national learning entitlement to the right learning opportunities for all students aged 14-19.
To deliver that entitlement, there are four government priorities:
Learning for young people will lead to qualifications from one of four routes:
To underpin the four routes the Government is putting in place the Qualifications and Credit Framework for creating and accrediting qualifications.
All qualifications will be added to this framework over the next few years, so that eventually modules of qualifications will be able to be achieved and credited, and then added to later by the learner.
It will help to ensure that no learning is lost.
The East Riding has been working with its partners for some time to provide access to all Diploma lines of learning in all areas of the county by 2013.
There is also a Foundation Learning group meeting regularly to ensure that provision at Entry level and Level 1 is also widely accessible.
