' Close scrutiny will show that most "crisis situations" are opportunities to either advance, or stay where you are. ' - Dr. Maxwell Maltz
On this page you will find information and guidance to support the new Ofsted inspection
arrangements from September 2005.
This area will seek to keep school managers up-to-date with all the relevant sources of information about the new inspection process.
Where possible, school’s experiences of the inspection process will also be included.
The key documents are directly available on this page.
Related documentation to support school self-evaluation and the production of the SEF may be found on the ‘School self-evaluation’ page of this
website.
This includes exemplar SEFs for each phase of school, guidance on developing effective approaches to self-evaluation and completion of the
SEF, as well as the Ofsted guidance to inspectors on the selection of appropriate grades for each aspect of the SEF.
A Microsoft PowerPoint introduction to the new inspection arrangements is also available.
Please feel free to adapt and modify this for your own use.
Further information about the new inspection process may be obtained directly from the Ofsted website:
Often, the most helpful documentation is to be found on the ‘Information for inspectors’ section of the site.
Inspectors’ ‘Updates’ are extremely useful sources of information about expectations and the criteria to be used to judge new aspects of the
work of schools as these become the focus of attention.
One of the most useful sources of information is Ofsted Direct, a termly online newsletter for schools.
It includes all the latest information about the new arrangements for school inspection, best practice case studies and Ofsted’s report findings.
