' CC4G has made a profound difference in school to the attitudes and aptitude of girls in the ICT area. '
Computer Clubs for Girls is an innovative step towards addressing the gender imbalance in the IT industry.
The East Riding of Yorkshire is a pilot authority for this project.
Developed by e-skills UK in partnership with the IT industry and education specialists, CC4G has been
successfully piloted by SEEDA (South East England Development Agency)
in the south east and is now available to schools across England.
DfES and e-skills UK acknowledges SEEDA's financial support and role as
founding partner.
Specifically developed to appeal to girls from 10 to 14 years of age (years
6 - 9), CC4G provides a unique combination of popular interests (music,
fashion, dance and celebrities) with Key Stage 2 & 3 curricular links in an
easy to manage, ready to use, inclusive club package.
CC4G is an extra curricular club designed to run weekly.
There is now over over 50 hours of password protected e-learning courseware and over 50 hours of offline
extension activities available from the Computer Clubs for Girls website.
All you need to do is register a designated facilitator to liaise with e-skills UK, to receive club
information, pupil member packs and support materials (see below for details).
