The accreditation for inclusion is based on the Local Authority 'Practising Inclusion: A Good Practice Guide and Self-Review Framework'
This review framework has 30 key indicators organised under the headings:
- Leadership
- Culture
- Policies
- Practice
The worthiness of the accreditation is evidenced not only in the school's performance but also
in its culture and willingness to review provision in order to offer
new opportunities to pupils who may have experienced previous difficulties.
The most effective schools do not take educational inclusion
for granted but are prepared to monitor and evaluate the progress
each pupil makes and review critically their own practice and culture.
