Information:
This course is aimed at newly appointed teaching assistants or those who have some experience, but have received no previous training. Attendance on all five days is required. Delegates should be accompanied on the morning of Day 1 by a Senior Teacher who will be their mentor. Mentors are also required to fill in an INset 1. Please indicate on the form that you are a MENTOR. There are five modules: Role and Context, Literacy, Mathematics, SEN and Behaviour Management. Please note that Days 1 and 5 are cross-phase. This course has been accredited by the College of York St John and forms the first module of the Certificate of Educational Practice for teaching Assistants, should the TAs wish to go on to further training.
Objectives:
  • To improve classroom support for teachers and pupils, thereby raising attainment
  • To provide opportunities for the professional development of teaching assistants.

 

Please note that failure to attend a course to which you have applied will result in an admin. charge of £10.00 unless a cancellation code is quoted.
A similar charge will be made if delegates attend without having made a formal application.
