This course will contribute towards the Continual Professional Development (DfES CPD) criteria for accreditation in the HEALTHY SCHOOL AWARD.
This is a 'must attend' introductory course for new and prospective school co-ordinators whose schools have signed up or are going to sign up for the Healthy School Award. The day will give an insight and explanation of what is required to achieve the award and the role of the award co-ordinator. It will help you in getting going! Programme materials will be available to take away and co-ordinators will undergo a step by step guide on how to set up a steering group, conduct an audit and set targets in order to successfully achieve the award. The recognition and rewarding of existing good practice to form a baseline for progression and development will be a feature of the day.
Objectives:
  • To explain the philosophy behind and the aims of the National Healthy School Standard and the role of our local programme the Healthy School Award;
  • To familiarise co-ordinators with the processes integral to the successful completion of the award;
  • To have an informative, worthwhile and health inspiring day;
  • To make co-ordinators aware of the range of support offered to schools to help them in accreditation;
  • To share existing good practice.
Please note that failure to attend a course to which you have applied will result in an admin. charge of £10.00 unless a cancellation code is quoted.
A similar charge will be made if delegates attend without having made a formal application.
