The Physical Activity Challenge

Introduction to the Physical Activity Challenge

The cold winter months are upon us and with the dark nights, are your pupils in a bit of a slump after the Christmas holiday?

Are they up for the challenge?

The East Riding of Yorkshire Sport and Play Development Team want to challenge some of your Year 3 pupils within East Riding primary schools to a Physical Activity Challenge.

The challenge will be open to teams of 15 pupils who will perform a number of individual, fun, physical and skill-based activities.

If you have enough pupils to make up to two teams then you are more than welcome to do so.

The challenge will be divided into two separate sessions.

The first will give pupils the opportunity to practice and become familiar with the activities.

The second session will be a week later where the pupils' results will be recorded and placed in both a school and individual league table here on eRiding's PE and Sport for schools area.

All pupils will receive a physical activity challenge certificate for taking part.

For schools in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) the cost of the challenge will be two SLA points, otherwise the cost will be £37.00.

The Physical Activity Challenge will count towards interschool numbers for PESSCL return and will be starting immediately.

Initially only the first 25 schools will be guaranteed entry, so please do not hesitate to complete and return the enclosed interest form.

As soon as we have your interest form we will contact you to arrange a suitable time and date.

If your school are interested in taking part then please
