To support your teaching and learning and events planning over Fairtrade
Fortnight (February 25th - 9th March 2008), it gives us great pleasure to announce the inception of new support pages
here on the eRiding.net website within the PSHE and Citizenship subject area.
These pages within the Fairtrade section have been built through extensive consultation and planning between the local
Fairtrade organisers, activists and East Riding of Yorkshire Council as follows:
- Ros Stanley - Cherry Burton Fair Trade and Local Produce;
- Chris Church - One World Shop, Hull;
- John Turner - Beverley Fair Trade;
- Silvia Usher - The Development Education Centre, Hull;
- Chris King - Sustainability Officer, East Riding of Yorkshire Council;
- Yvette Fox - Teaching and Learning Consultant, School Improvement Service.
Please use these pages to aid your planning and support your work throughout the fortnight.
We would like to profile some of our East Riding schools engaged in any Fairtrade activities during Fairtrade Fortnight.
To do this we would like you to send to Yvette Fox samples of any of the following Fair Trade activities:
- Short text (no more than A4) of activities involving pupils, teachers and or parents;
- Digital images;
- Assembly plans;
- Lesson plans.
These are examples only and you may have other ideas to help us profile your school Fair Trade activities.
Above all please submit to Yvette Fox case studies of the work you did in your schools during this national 2 week event.
Please ensure that you have obtained parental permission for photographic images of any children and young people in the
digital images you choose to send to Yvette.
Selections will be made to profile your school activities here on the eRiding.net website within the Fair Trade area.
Finally, to review and share any Fairtrade activities schools took part in or undertook, and the new eRiding support area
for teachers, we would like to invite you to an informal twilight meeting at County Hall on 19th March from 4:30 - 5:30pm.
