A full day Continuing Professional Development (INSET)
course entitled ‘Helping You Get Going’ is run on a termly basis for school co-ordinators in order
to familiarise them with the local programme.
The objectives of the course are:
- to explain the philosophy behind the aims of the National Healthy School Standard and the role of our local programme, the Healthy School Award
- to familiarise co-ordinators with the processes integral to the successful completion of the award
- to have an informative, worthwhile and health inspiring day
- to make co-ordinators aware of the range of support offered to schools to help them in accreditation
- to identify and share existing good practice in schools that will contribute towards accreditation
New schools signing up for the Healthy School Award should endeavour to have their co-ordinator
attend this training.
