The Leading Aspect Award
has been designed with, and by, educational practitioners as a means
to recognise and celebrate leading practice in schools and other
establishments.
It is appropriate for all phases and is relevant to any aspect
of education.
It is based on an initial self-evaluation followed by external
verification against defined criteria.
The DfES are highly supportive of the Leading Aspect Award, as
it fits well with the 'Leading Practice' identified in DfES Excellence
and Enjoyment, A Strategy for Primary Schools.
They recognise the need for sharing of practice and see the Leading
Aspect Award as a avaluable tool to promote this strategy.
